As of October 21, 2020, officials have tested 38 percent of Maverick County’s entire population for Covid-19.
Officials have administered 22,137 tests with 17,787 coming back negative.
Of those tests 7 percent or approximately 4,110 have come back positive. Of those 3,593 have been deemed recovered.
On Wednesday evening, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes announced that another person had died from complications related to Covid-19 bringing the death total to 137. There were also another 26 new positive Covid-19 cases added to the count.
There are currently 16 people that are hospitalized at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers with 2 on ventilators.
There are 380 active cases with 240 tests pending results.
Officials continue urging the community to follow all safety guidelines including wearing a face mask and washing your hands as often as possible.
